ELECTION ALERT - 2014 MAIL BALLOT GENERAL ELECTION


SEARCH RECORDED DOCUMENTS


The County Clerk & Recorder is the Election Official responsible for all elections including general and local city and county, special districts, school boards and any other elections required by Colorado law.

THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
1. Register county residents that want to vote
2. Prepare and submit Mail Ballot Plan to the Secretary of State
3. Prepare mail ballots to registered voters and for those ballots returned by the post office follow-up to determine if ballot wa mailed to the most recent address on file.
4. Prepare ballots to be mailed to absentee voters.
5. Train election judges prior to the date of election
6. Publish ballot in the local newspapers.
7. Retain Campaign Finances reports from candidates.
8. Determine ballot styles, proofing, ordering, and making the ballots available to the electors
9. Send out Tabor Notices.
10. Prepare Intergovernmental Agreement to be signed by the party participating in the Election.
11. Send notices to all Special Districts to determine if they are to be included in the elections.
12. Manage and supervise staff and election judges on the day of the election in order to respond to any and all problems that may arise. 13. Manage and supervise set up of election equipment.
14. Colorado law requires that the County Clerk and Recorders be certified. Certification requires many hours of training that must be kept up every year.

HE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE CLERK & RECORDER FOR ELECTIONS IS:
To insure that all elections are conducted in compliance with Colorado law and that the outcome of the elections are accurate.

RECORDINGS:
The office of the County Clerk & Recorder's office is responsible for recording documents as required by Colorado law.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Record marriage licenses, plats, warranty and all types of deeds, power of attorneys, easements, bill of sales, liens,military discharges, security agreements, deeds of trust, release deeds of trust, etc.
2. Certify copies of recorded documents.
3. Recordings of property are indexed on computer of Grantor or Grantee.
4. Assist the general public in the search of records.

OBJECTIVE:
Ensure that recordings are accurately maintained and assist the general public in obtaining copies of documents.

MOTOR VEHICLE:
The office of the County Clerk & Recorder is responsible for processing motor vehicle licensing requirements and collection of fees as required under Colorado law, Motor Vehicle Division at the Colorado Department of Revenue.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approve, issue and accurately document all motor vehicle licenses provided to county and city residents as authorized by Colorado law. Accurately collect appropriate motor vehicle fees required under Colorado law. Disburse revenues collected for motor vehicle fees to the Colorado Department of Revenue.

BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:
1. Attend County Commissioner Meetings to take minutes of the meeting.
2. Take minutes and retain cassette tapes of the meetings that attest contracts, agreements and resolutions.
3. Prepare monthly report of outstanding warrants. 4. Record and store all resolutions from weekly meetings.
OBJECTIVE:
TO ATTEND AND RECORD MINUTES OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

MARRIAGE LICENSES:
The County Clerk & Recorder is to issue a marriage license as defined in Colorado law.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Issue application for marriage license and record the license
2. Collect fees for the license
3. File application with the State's Vital Statistics Office.

LIQUOR LICENSES: JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Issue application for liquor license.
2. Collect license fee.
3. Review all paperwork to make sure all appropriate sections have been completed.
4. Post buildings that are applying for liquor license
